I had the pleasure of meeting Raumina this year for her new set of headshots. She’s a law student and wanted to update her profile images for her LinkedIn and website.

Prior to Raumina’s session, we chatted about wardrobe options and backdrop colours. Outfit selection for headshots can feel like the most challenging part of preparing for your session, that’s why I love to help in any way possible. Through my Getting Ready Guide, I offer tips for selecting outfit colours and style depending on the image you’re wanting to project, but simply put: I always recommend that if you have colours in your wardrobe you love to wear, and outfits that you wear with clients that you feel amazing in, that’s what you should wear and we can choose the backdrop as the secondary element. And if you’re still feeling a little unsure about what your final outfit(s) should be, you can always bring a few extra outfits and we can take a look at all of your options when you arrive and switch out an outfit if needed.

Raumina ending up loving the neutral options and chose the Smoke Gray and Studio Gray backdrops which paired beautifully with her outfit!
