There’s something about Elk Lake at sunset that just hits different. It’s one of my absolute favourite spots for family sessions, and this recent shoot with a family of four (featuring two adorable sisters in the most gorgeous dresses) was one for the books! The golden light, the wide-open field, and the joy these two girls brought to the session made everything come together so perfectly. I had a blast photographing this family and we couldn’t have asked for a better evening.

This family session was filled with twirls, giggles, and lots of fun, especially with the girls looking so elegant in their beautiful dresses. They made the most of the space, running around and just being themselves, which is exactly what I love about this location—there’s plenty of room for everyone to have a little fun and let their personalities shine through.

This session really highlighted why Elk Lake is such a great spot for kids. The two sisters were free to run, explore, and just be themselves, which always makes for the best photos. Don’t worry about trying to pose too much—the magic happens when your kids are having fun.

Soft colours, pastels, and neutrals are always a great choice at Elk Lake, as they play off the natural tones of the field and sunset.
